I am researching my family roots in Oostermeer during the 1500's en 1600's. I had at least three generations living in the area and working as "veenbaas". At least one (Dirck Outgers) seems to have owned large tracts of "veenland" since there were a number of sales of parcels of land by his widow and children after his death. Question: Is there any publication available on the 'veen' industry in Oostermeer during this time as well as the people involved in the industry? Also, one of the ancestors lived in the De Wal area which was apparently extensively used by 'veen' workers. Question: Was De Wal only used by workers or also by the owners themself?

Thank you for your consideration.
